Chiang Mai 5 Star Luxury Hotels: My Top 2 Recommendations 2023

After dedicating five years to non-stop work, I embraced a well-earned career break in Chiang Mai. Famous for its ancient temples and vibrant street markets, Chiang Mai is also home to hidden luxurious retreats. If you’re seeking a blend of elegant and local charm, two boutique luxury hotels in Chiang Mai indeed stand out.

One hotel, in particular, left such a lasting impression that I’ve already booked a return visit this December! Dive in as I unveil these lovely Chiang Mai luxury accommodations.

1. Maladee Rendezvous Hotel

Guess what I stumbled upon in Chiang Mai’s Charoen Prathet Road neighborhood? The Maladee Rendezvous Hotel! What was once a private residence has been transformed into a boutique paradise. Every corner, from the intricately designed rooms to the picturesque swimming pool, speaks of its distinctive charm.

When I stayed there, the facilities were spot on, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the whole place just had this cozy feel. I especially adored the welcome tea, beautifully accented with rose-carved ice.

Opting for the pool access room, I particularly enjoyed moments of solitude on the sunbed during nighttime. The serene waters of the pool provided a calming backdrop for meditation, although I couldn’t linger for too long, given the warm evening air. If it’s an intimate space to relax and rejuvenate that you seek, I cannot recommend the deluxe pool access room enough!

2. The Inside House

Imagine staying in a Lanna heritage style mansion from the 1920s right in the heart of the old city. And get this – they have 14 swimming pools!

I stayed in a room without a private pool, but it didn’t matter. I relaxed at their communal pool outside. Yet, I was drawn back to my room due to its irresistible coziness. The garden, with its towering Bodhi Tree, adds a zen vibe. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the sheets felt like clouds, and every amenity was arranged to perfection.

The stay includes a welcome drink and afternoon teaThe afternoon tea was a visual delight and provided a captivating experience. While I found the taste to be satisfactory to my palate, I truly appreciated its inclusion and enjoyed the overall experience. A sweet touch – they even give you sandwiches when you’re checking out!

Final Thoughts

As this is my first blog post, I’m still navigating the WordPress. Although I opted not to overload this post with photos, there are a few memorable photos I wish I could have included. Both hotels offer a course-style breakfast, allowing guests to select a drink, appetizer, main dish, and dessert. Furthermore, the bathing experiences at both hotels were truly delightful and relaxing!
